CERT-UA is an abbreviation from Computer Emergency Response Team of Ukraine, which is used by Department of Information Telecommunication Systems Security of the Administration of State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine while international cooperation on how to prevent, identify and remove consequences of unauthorized actions concerning state information resources in information, telecommunication and information telecommunication systems.The State Service of Special Communication and Information Protection of Ukraine’s goal and in particular the CERT-UA's goal is coordination of activity of state authorities, local authorities, military forces, enterprises, institutions and organizations regardless of ownership form (further – constituency) on how to prevent, identify and remove consequences of unauthorized actions concerning state information resources in information, telecommunication and information-telecommunication systems (further - ITS).

Another important goal of CERT-UA is consultative and methodical support of constituency on how to provide state information resources protection in ITS.

Besides CERT-UA constantly:

— follows up international and Ukrainian events in the sphere of information protection in ITS and also the most important problems in this sphere;

— gives recommendations on how to undertake countermeasures to modern types of attacks, methodical recommendations in construction of the protection system in ITS, usage of the most effective measures in information protection etc;

— cooperates with Law Enforcement Bodies of Ukraine;

— cooperates with foreign and international computer incident emergency response organizations;

— realizes data gathering and analysis of unauthorized actions and/or attempts of providing unauthorized actions concerning state information resources in ITS;

For Ukrainian users - Please, pay your attention to the fact that in accordance with the Article 9 of the Law of Ukraine «On information protection in information telecommunication systems» owner of the system is responsible for providing an information protection in the system.
